Marin City, CA — November 18, 2025 — Golden Gate Village today launched its new Construction Trades Program, a collaborative effort between the Marin Housing Authority, Burbank Housing, and Tradeswomen Inc. The free program is designed to help residents of Golden Gate Village and Marin City gain the skills, tools, and connections needed to build long-term careers in the construction industry.

The 12-week program equips participants with essential certifications and practical experience, including OSHA-10, First Aid/CPR, resume development, financial literacy, and mental health and physical training support. Each participant will also receive a complete uniform, a full set of tools, and a $100 weekly stipend.

Representatives from various trades will visit the program to share insights, resources, and potential employment opportunities. Upon completion, Tradeswomen Inc. will assist graduates in securing jobs, including potential opportunities to help revitalize the community they call home.

“At Burbank Housing, our mission extends beyond simply providing a roof over someone’s head. We believe true stability and success come from offering both housing and opportunity. This partnership with Tradeswomen, Inc. perfectly embodies that commitment.” said Larry Florin, CEO & President of Burbank Housing. “This initiative provides the hands-on training, mentorship and support that will empower women to pursue high-demand, well paying-trades careers, giving them tools they need to achieve long term financial independence and success for themselves and their families.”

The launch event took place Monday, November 10, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at the Golden Gate Village Community Center. The celebration introduced the student cohort, featured remarks from project partners and community leaders.

“The Tradeswomen Construction Program at Golden Gate Village has opened the doors for our residents to build strong, lasting careers in the skilled trades.” echoed Kimberly Carroll, Executive Director, Marin Housing Authority. “We are proud to support a pathway that empowers women and men to cultivate local talent, and strengthen our community from within”.
