Golden Gate Village Senior Fair

December 12, 2025

Marin Housing Authority's recent service fairs are shining a spotlight on dozens of county programs designed to support public-housing residents across Marin. As reported in the Marin Independent Journal, the fairs bring together health services, transit assistance, nutrition programs, crisis support, and community resources-all in one place-to help residents access offerings they may not know exist.

The Golden Gate Village event featured organizations such as the R.O.O.T.S. Mobile Crisis Response Team, Ceres Community Project's medically tailored meals, Marin Transit's mobility programs, Kaiser's free vaccinations, and the Marin County Free Library, among others. These fairs are part of a six-site effort to reduce barriers and make essential services more visible and accessible to lower-income families, seniors, and individuals facing health or mobility challenges.

Beyond providing information, the fairs offer connection and hope. Residents shared stories of rebuilding their lives, seeking independence, and finding meaningful support-from transit solutions that restore mobility to life-skills training, community meals, and access to quiet learning spaces. Marin Housing Authority leadership emphasized that many residents struggle without family networks or consistent support systems, and these fairs aim to bridge that gap by bringing community partners directly into the neighborhoods they serve.
