Repair Fair Is Coming Up!

Zero Waste Marin is working with non-profit Reuse Alliance to bring their free Repair Fairs to Marin County! In 2025, Zero Waste Marin worked with Reuse Alliance to host 10 Repair Fairs across all of Marin County. More are coming up!

What is a Repair Fair?

Repair Fairs are free events where community members can bring an item (lamp, bike, clothes, small appliances, etc.) for free repair. Rather than leaving and retuning later to pick up their item, attendees sit with a Repair Coach who explains their approach to fixing the item. The Coach and attendee work collaboratively to try to fix the item. Repair Fairs keep useful items out of the landfill and spread knowledge and love of reuse and repair!

How Do I Register an Item to Be Fixed?

Happy New Year

Pre-register the items that you would like to have fixed at the Repair Fair; you can do so by finding the event you want to attend at: www.reusealliance.org/rf-reg.

Forget to pre-register? They also take walk-ins!

WHEN: Saturday, January 10th, 2026, 1pm – 4pm

WHERE: San Rafael Community Center, 618 B St, San Rafael

All MHA Offices Will Be Closed on January 19.

The campaign for a federal holiday in King’s honor began soon after his assassination in 1968. President Reagan signed the holiday into law in 1983, and it was first observed three years later on January 20, 1986. Official observance in each state’s law as well as federal law occurred in 2000.

Protect Your Privacy Online

Data Privacy Day on Jan. 28 reminds us how important it is to keep our personal information secure, especially in this digital age. Use these tips to protect your data online:

  • On all your devices, keep apps and software up-to-date.
  • Use long, unique passwords for different accounts. Change them occasionally, or whenever there’s a security breach.
  • Enable multi-factor authentication for important accounts like banking and social media.
  • Turn off location and activity tracking on mobile apps, and regularly clear cookies on your browser.

Pest Control: How We Work Together

At GGV, keeping our homes comfortable and pest-free is a shared effort. We partner with a licensed pest control vendor to provide regular inspections and treatment when needed—and your cooperation makes a big difference.

What to Expect

Pest control visits are scheduled throughout the month. A 24-hour Notice of Entry will be posted before service. If you are not home, staff and the pest control vendor may still enter to complete the treatment.

How to Prepare Your Unit

To help treatments be effective, please remember to:

  • Unlock any exterior screen doors on service days or provide the 429 Drake Office with a copy of your gate key
  • Secure pets during the visit
  • Clear access under sinks, near stoves, refrigerators, and along walls

If the vendor cannot access your unit, service may need to be rescheduled.

How to Request Pest Control

If you notice pest activity or would like to request service:

Call or stop by the Golden Gate Village Office during posted business hours (429 Drake Ave): (415) 332-1913, or Call the Maintenance Line: (415) 390-2094

Early reporting helps us address issues quickly and prevent them from spreading.
