What is the Resident Empowerment Fund?

Established by the Marin Housing Board of Commissioners in 2022, the Resident Empowerment Fund was designed to provide enhanced services that expand economic opportunities for GGV residents. The fund focuses on initiatives that help residents build wealth, gain new skills, and improve their overall quality of life.


Focus Areas for 2026-2027

Based on direct feedback from GGV Resident Listening Sessions, this round of funding seeks proposals that address four critical service needs:


  • Education & Workforce Development: Pathways to job training, higher education, and career advancement.
  • Wealth Creation Programs: Initiatives focusing on debt forgiveness, financial literacy, and pathways to homeownership.
  • Health & Wellbeing: Programs that support the physical and mental health of residents of all ages.
  • Emergency Services: Critical support systems to ensure community safety and resilience.

  • Application Opened: January 12, 2026
  • Applicant Workshop: January 22, 2026 (An excellent opportunity to ask questions and clarify requirements!)
  • Proposal Deadline: February 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM
