The Marin Housing Authority is excited to provide you information on a low-cost internet option that you may be able to take advantage of! Internet Essentials through Comcast is not an MHA program, and MHA does not have control over eligibility for the Internet Essentials program. You may be eligible to receive Comcast internet through the Internet Essential’s program for $9.95 a month plus tax if:
  1. You receive HUD housing assistance such as Public Housing, Section 8 or Project Based Vouchers
  2. You do not have outstanding debt to Comcast from the past year
  3. You live in an area where Comcast is currently available
  4. You have not subscribed to Comcast internet in the last 90 days
If Comcast determines you are an eligible household and you sign up for the Internet Essentials program, you may also qualify to purchase a desktop or laptop computer through Comcast for $149.99 plus tax.

Some applicants may be required to provide Comcast with a verification of participation in one of MHA’s programs. If you require such verification, please request a copy of your rent letter from your eligibility worker, FSS case worker, or service coordinator (at Public Housing Senior/Disabled properties).If you will be uploading the rent letter to an online Internet Essentials application, we can email you a copy of the rent letter so you do not have to scan it. If you will be mailing the verification to Comcast, you may request a printed copy.
